Thinking of selling
I don't want to do it, but at the moment I get chance to work on the Marlin about once every 2 months.
It is very frustrating as I need to spend the first hour or clearing out the garage to get to work on the car and finding where I'm up to.
The question I suppose is whether it is worth selling and how much I'll get for it.
Nearly everything is there to finish the car (needs rear lights, alloys and a cat). It is on it's wheels, brakes fitted & just about ready to be filled & tested, the wiring loom is routed and labelled and the engine is ready to go in.
My other option is to pay someone to build it, but do I trust them? - and how much will it cost?
Any thoughts?

Sad to hear that mate.
Stuck between a rock and a hard place time wise.
Not sure how much you would get for it. Might be worth asking Marlin if there interested and also how much to build it for you?
I have the time at the moment but not the funds.
About trusting people to build it. Either Marlin or your self. I have PMed you another engineer that got involved building a 5EXI. Not sure on cost though.
Would love to help complete it for you.

Sounds like a possible plan.....you have the time....to complete Mark's 5exi, he pays you an agreed figure to finish it, you then have the funds to finish your car. I should be in marriage guidance..

Its hard work. I know how hard it is to get to the end.
I really do sympathise with you mate, but it's worth it in the end...
At the end of the day you have to make that decision to sell.
If you want to sell i notice that Ken Robson, who is the MRCC club secretary is looking to own a 5EXi.
Give Terry a call and see if he is interested.

Might give Terry a ring.
Trying to put it off as I don't really want to sell it.

Sorry guys.
I've received 3 PM's regarding this topic and haven't replied to any.
I appreciate the support.
I really don't want to sell it, so I will call Marlin (as suggested) in the next week to ask for a cost.
If I am looking iro £1k - £1.5k to complete it, then I think that's what I'll do.
Not sure I can afford any more . . . .
Thanks again.

Just a quick update.
After speaking with my father in law, I will be paying him to work on the kit.
It will still be a while before it's done though, as he works flat out throught the summer (he's a gardener).
At least I can see it'll get finished as I want now.

Great stuff mate. Glad to hear it! Don't forget, if there is anything I can do, I'm only on the other end of the phone. If the distance was less, then I would have got my hands dirty as well.
