Ian Johnson 18000 2 0 700 I used Jaguar running gear. The rear axle fit was terrible, had to make many parts myself. Many annoying niggles, perhaps because they made far more Sierra based than Jag chassis. Fuel tank did not fit, had to cut the height down by 1.5inches ... thus lower capacity. Ultimately great fun and with a 5.7 Chevy, goes like hell. Note that my costs included some special tools and gear.
jon milner 15000 4 0 500 Bling'd up, so could have been doen for £10-12 on the cheap
Frederic HENNETON 13000 3 6 1500 Car easy to build in general but much more difficult to get registered in France! But it is all sorted out now.I have spent much time to make a beautiful car: aluminium cockpit, more authentic details...The car looks like a 1965 sportscar and note like a simple replica. I'd like now to improve the road handling and the suspensions. Any tip on my e-mail adress will very welcome.
Martin Underhill 17000 2 6 350 Chevy 5.7 with Tremec box, leather/wood interior. GRP fantastic quality, kit and advice top rate from Tony Holmes. Some parts delays were frustrating though. Overall a good build and a fantastic drive.
Brian Thornton 7500 2 1 600 some minor irritations, but apart from the body being slightly out,and the doors(**** to fit) and compared to other model Iam presently involved with value for money.great chassis
Frederic HENNETON 11000 4 2 1400 I really enjoyed to build the car, no real problem.I wanted to have a car very clothe to the real thing. I have made a couple of changes in the wiring loom, the racing harnesses anchorages, the roll-over bar, the dashboard, the side louvres,...The cockpit is trimmed with aluminium panels. My car runs well with a 5L V8 Chevy. I am now trying to get my car registered in France, my country. Unfortunately, the company cannot do anything for me. How can help me? Many thanks in advance
Roger Hall 12000 1 9 500 Just love the Cobra so had to build one. Sumo was relatively simple - chassis in particular. Fitting the doors was a real pain - I can sympathise very strongly with Mark in the program 'A Car is Born' when doing this job. Other tricky jobs were cutting some of the holes in the body and some of the wiring. Now the car is complete, passed SVA and out on the road, it fantastic. Goes like a dream, sounds the business and gets endless admiring comments.
Paul Silvey 13000 0 10 220 Chevy V8 is awesome but a tight fit. First experience of a kit and was much much easier than I expected. Not a lot of legroom for me (6'4') but better than most
Richard Wilcox 16000 1 9 300 Straightforward build. One or two alterations to original design. Superb motor - lives up to expectations.
Tom de Kruijff 12000 3 0 600 It is not to difficult to build i think,it was my first and it went together quit well.Being Dutch it is not easy to compare the costs ,second hand parts are more expensive over here i think.Started in dec 1993 and finnished 1996 just before christmas.First big trip was to le-mans,clocked 76000km sinds.Had one major problem with bottem front a-arms,but they where replaced by the latter type and the last 40000km no problems I put a 2.0 DOHC 8valve ford in with a MT 75 box made the sidepipes my self From SS-tube.Use it as a daily transport and most of the time the top is down only when it rains and im in the rushhour i put it up.And when the temp is -10 drg celcius. Thats all fooks.
John Green 10500 2 2 800 This was the first build I have undertaken. It was very challenging and also very enjoyable/frustrating. Quality of kit was very good, although service from Pilgrim was patchy to put it politely. Chassis build up was easy, bodywork was much more difficult. Inner panels as supplied by Pilgrim were rubbish which caused a lot of head scratching and many hours of fibreglassing. Love the car now its built though. Comes out only in fine weather with the top down - how it should be. Lots of second glances from pedestrians and other drivers, very positive feedback from everyone that sees her.
