When the brake pedal is fully applied it must have sufficient reserve travel

 

It must not feel spongy

 

It must not creep down when pressure is applied and held.

 

Where a vacuum servo is fitted the brake pedal must dip slightly when the engine is started whilst pressure on the pedal is applied.
