HAVEN'T UPDATED FOR A WHILE .....Simply because we haven't done a lot ....
Barry has expressed an interest in getting the car completed for the end of May and is talking about another soon after , so I thought we had better do a bit !!
All internal wood and bracing is now done...
REAR FIN IS FITTED AND RIVET DETAILED
DOORS AND BONNET ARE BEING GAPPED UP
FUEL CAP DETAIL IS DONE...

Had a message from Gary. he can't get on the forum for a couple of days but asked me to post this photo of Barry's door latch mechanism:
looks tidy and keeping to the 'KISS' principal so less can go wrong.

BARRYS CAR IS NOW IN THE PAINTSHOP....
We had the original Ecosse Blue colour mixed for him , its a colour that was reformulated in 1958 by Standox and is called Flag blue .....
Its going to be pretty close to the old D-type colours....

Looking mighty fine. I see the fin ended up being angled up into the airstream after all.

Can't wait to see it in Flag Blue as that is one of the colours near the top of my choices at the moment.

Great colour, 'twas on my original list.
Mind you, the Sammio Spyder/Cordite shape seems to carry off just about any colour - I've not seen one that didn't work yet, even the light brown one with black roundels.
Looking forward to seeing a G46 in paint, have a feeling that'll be the same.

In an effort to beg, borrow, or steal ideas from other builds I'm having another look at this thread.
If these Herald boot hinges are suitable for Sammio doors...
... then I hope these Mini door hinges will do the job on my Cordite.
I like the fact there are two bolts on the body side of the hinge.
---------------------
However, there now appears to be a technical problem with this post...

Any chance of another photo of the latch that was used?
Plus any links to where I could get one, thanks.
---------------------
Finally, are there any more updates on this car?
This was the last photo I saw of it and clearly more progress has been made.
Cheers, Paul.

Paul , those mini style hinges are the same ones we used on the Cordite at the show....we bought ours from a Jag dealer ! but have since identified them as mini !!
They work really well....
I will try and get the latch pic up again ...don't know whats happened there....
The car has been totally re-wired since that pic was taken and is being readied for mot at present....

I've picked up a spare set of latches and striker plates whilst at Newark. I'll PM you the details and if you want them I'll get them posted over (after taking photos)
