I thought any old post office that does tax disks can issue a historic one - certainly the way it used to be? (It just says historic in type, rather than PLG)

That is definitely wrong Pat, just checked mine and it says Historic Vehicle. Bring on the free road tax!

Trevor, my V5 doesn't mention Historic Vehicle so I'll phone in a few hours time, it would be easier at a PO as I've got to see the quack later to check me over after me ticker problems, I'm sure it's improved after my little drive well I'm still grinning. All happens on the same day I've been doing bugger all for weeks just a little bit when up to it,.......PAT

Thanks everyone, driving her is ,, well just great and the weather at present just fantastic, rides I could sell tickets. The MOT guys where good they used to do free style buggies when they were made in Wellington. Mannings Garage for the MOT and NM Motors (Nick Manning related) whom did my tracking and tightened my front n/s wheel nuts (wot idiot missed that) and genrally checked her over proir to test and in general for peace of mind. On Alexandria Industrial Est theres quiet a few small units for refinishing the likes of wheels and brakets, a car body place, Tools UK nuts bolt and tools and very good on towbars and bits she drew a bit of a crowd, the Body shop quoted me £1000 from how she is now to bright yellow with BRG viper stripes that included materials. Was going to do it myself "I hate filling n sanding" I'm tempted, any way a couple of pics leaving for the MOT.

Looks great even without paint, like a barn find that hasn't been touched for fifty years.

£1,000 for the spray job sounds like good value given the labour intensive nature of it.

Yellow's going to be a great colour, too. What shade do you have in mind? I've always liked Fiat broom yellow as used on assorted Fiat Coupes and Barchettas:

Anyway, great job getting it through the mot and good luck with the finishing touches.
