Default Insurance Help

Hi all

Thinking about buying a lomax 3 wheeler kit car , I have a provisonal licence which I can drive the lomax on with one seat as some of you may know.

Now do you think i can find anyone to insure me? Hell no .. I'm 32 not some bit of a kid thats going to go racing around like the village idiot on viagra. So I'm hoping someone on here may know to an insurance company that lives in the real world , any help would be grateful .... I'm in the UK by the way.

Many thanks in advance

Kind Regards

Daz

Is it realistic to get Insurance on just a provisional Licence, for a single seat vehicle?

Not sure how this rule works. As a M/cycle can only be ridden under supervision which is cat A.

Only Prov Moped for under 125 cc, can be driven unsupervised, however only after passing CBT.

The 3 wheeler comes under cat B Licence, which requires a Licenced driver to sit beside you at all times, until you have passed your Driving Test

As long as it is legal to do so, have a look in the back of Kit Car (or other kit mag) and call a couple of the companies advertising there.

Companies that insure kit cars are used to unusual requests.

Please see link below

http://www.3wheelers.com/lawuk.html

Vehicle has a 410 kg weight limit, according to this site

Although i believe in UK law, a 3 wheeled vehicle driving under B1 cat is limited to 550 kg. Any weight above that & it becomes classified as a Car, full Cat B required.

Do not know what the Lomax weighs?
