Default We are just playing with the forum layout....

Just in case you are wondering what's going on we are just playing with the forum layout so that it looks more integrated with the main Madabout-Kitcars site template. This will hopefully make navigating from the main site and the forum and vice versa more seemless.

Please bear with us while we make tweaks here and there to get it perfect.

Also please let us know if you have any problems

Cheers, John

Preferred it the other way John.

Sorry, but feel it was easier to read the other way.

Hi Mark,

The forum itself hasn't changed, we've just placed it within the Madabout template so it shouldn't be any different to read other than the width being reduced as there is now the left hand menu navigation showing (we will be sorting the formatting of that out as it's showing centered for some reason in IE)

The bigger picture is that you may also know that we are planning a build diary section to the site. This will use off the shelf software which would have meant another section of Madabout which looked different to the main part of the site. This would have meant having 3 parts of the site each looking different.

Although the forum has got much more popular of late it only accounts for about a fifth of the traffic that Madabout gets so it makes sense for us to bring the forum 'into' the Madabout template and do the same with the build diary section so that it all becomes one. Future plans will integrate the forum and the build diary section into the rest of the site so that it is even more seamless to get from one section to another (ie links within kit car details pages and for sale section etc). This will we hope promote the forum better to attract more visitors (and hopefully contributors) to it.

So there is a reason why we are doing this and I hope you will all see it as a positive move as we are trying to attract more people to the forum (and the rest of the site) and to keep the look of the site consistent throughout.

Cheers, John
