Default Cheap Camber Gauge

Hi Chaps - I was going to ask Peter if I could borrow his camber gauge to help set up Vikki's suspension, but then I though - hang on, I already have something that will do the job. And I bet most of you do as well

Most smart phones these days come with a mulitude of accelerometers in them to work out which way up they are. And these can be used for all sorts of other things - which clever people have written apps for.

I've downloaded an inclinometer app for my iPhone, and it will measure the angle of slope down to a 10th of a degree - which I'm sure will be accurate enough.

My plan is to pop my phone in a clear bag to stop it getting mucky, calibrate it against a known straight surface and then use it against the brake disk to see what the camber is.

Most of these apps cost about 70p or less (some of them are free!), so if you have a phone already it saves you £20-30 on a dedicated camber guage.

Once I've got the suspension back together, I'll report back on how well it works.

Cheers

Jason
