Floor looks good psycho.
Roughly how much was it, do they do 12mm and where'd you source it from, local Norfolk supplier by any chance?

Santa came up trumps for me
Well christmas came and I was spoilt rotten, but late in the afternoon the wife gave me a bonus present, she,d saved a shiny new stainless sports exhaust for a surprise present. Today I had to offer it up. Four straight down pipes into two into one and then branching to twin boxes at the rear. She did amazing buying for the spitfire engine and allowing for the twin carb manifold. It fits a treat. Think I may do some small cut aways on the rear apron where the pipes exit just for the look, like they should always have been there.
Will post pictures later. What a woman I'm so chuffed

Fuel Filler cap, Not as straight forward as I had hoped but its getting there,
Not fully seated yet but you get the idea..
Started glassing in the bulkhead tonight, want to make a complete water tight and smooth look across the whole thing
.
And had a play with the number plate light, its sat on its own plinth now, should look better once its sealed and painted with a gasket between the two..
Thats it for now `pops'

Hey, great news! It'll be a breeze, the chap at Peterborough couldn't be more accommodating. Look forward to seeing some pictures of the process.

That is a perfect example of why DVLA frustrate me ....don't get me wrong , its a perfectly acceptable description and if you ever plan on selling overseas , it will def. be to your advantage having Triumph on the book , as its a recognised manufacturer .......
I have tried to get that description for customers abroad in the past and been told , ''no way , no longer a Triumph product , no longer says Triumph'' etc. etc.
The inconsistency of inspection criteria and vehicle descriptions etc. just show how the system is flawed......

Is there an issue with registering rebodied classics abroad then? That's funny, nobody's mentioned it before on here...

Floors fitted
Got the floors fitted and secured over the last two days, ended up using Phenolic resin coated ply, (as used in trailers and truck beds).
May have gone a little overboard with 18mm thickness but very happy with the results, it has a smooth waterproof underside and non slip waffle surface on top.
Where it joins the bulkhead I have cut an angled slot and pushed it underneath the raised outer edge just to give it a nice finish before fibre glassing in.
A bull nosed edge just keeps it looking neat along the edges but these will not be seen.
It still needs a little trim down the outside rear where the body tucks in and the fresh edges sealed but overall has gone down ok and feels very sturdy

Fitting advice & must have tool
Fitted the framework and test fitted the body and had a little trouble getting the Drivers side low enough to cover the chassis side rail, I searched this forum and Trevors Blog scouring photos of how previous builds had gone.
I noticed that frames differ from build to build,
This is Daves frame (if i remember right) see how the top front rail is fixed inside the framework ,
This is mine the same rail is on top of the framework .
In order to drop the tub low enough the corners had to be fettled away ( read angle grinding frenzy) until it sat where I wanted it.
I am just about there with the position now.
Any one reading this before starting a build, I would recommend buying the ratchet straps - think mine were £10 for four, fitting the frame without them would have been nigh on impossible, they will be needed for holding the tub in place while fibre glassing too.

Hi
It was from a guy in syderstone nr Fakenham. £44 a full sheet, only 18mm or 22mm thickness which is why I ended up with 18.
He advertises on e bay.
Cheers Psycho

Thanks chaps, 12mm exterior ply overpainted with Ronseal is looking favourite on cost grounds.
I haven't measured up yet as I'm still at the 'repair the chassis' stage. Is one 8' x 4' sheet enough to do the job?

Your chap in Syderstone now does 12mm and 9mm phenol impregnated ply at thirty four sheets per, erm, sheet (buyer collects).

Flooring
Towed Thats better if you can get the 12mm, I wont be swapping out as I am happy with the rigidity of the 18mm and it looks like my seats are going to be just fine, whatever thickness I fully recommend this stuff the smooth underside will be fully waterproof and easy cleaned and the non slip surface looks very professional, at £34 a sheet you cant go wrong. I see you are going for shuttering ply is that not a little thick for the inners, considering the orginal triumphs were almost cardboard backed, I wonder wether 6mm mdf would be easier shaped and could maybe be curved around the rear of the tub?

The 9mm ply is for the structure of the cockpit as recommended by Gary in the 'getting started' guide on the Sammio website.
I'll be using flexible card as a base for the trim panels.

Ref the front end height, mine never did wrap under the front chassis rails! Looking back, i should have chopped the front of the body where it sits on the bulkhead until the bottom edges wrapped under. I think this is where some of my bonnet woes came from! I just ended up leaving mine and painting the exposed chassis rails black so you can't see them! no great issue for me
