That looks very authentic Bugatti, the wheels really hide the origin. Nice work, any plans to offer it as a body kit?

Not really as this body sells for £950 for a 600 lay-up or £1200 for a 900 lay-up.
My next project/racer might be a different story .
Sunbeam 350hp Bluebird tribute.
Aero engines are hard to find now-a-days so to get the "wow" factor when opening the bonnet I'll be going for twin in-line engines

Micky1Mo - Have you seen 'Medusa' over on 'Rods 'n' Sods'?
Two straight six Jaguar engines on a London taxi chassis.

Without doubt, one of my favourite build threads.
Good luck, Paul.

That is a beautiful piece of engineering which is far beyond my capabilities but is has inspired me to do a "simpler" version.

Sorry about the last photo I'm just playing with "IMGUR" which is proving tricky at the moment.
Better attempt.
Now for sale on E-Bay

Wow! That's one of the most authentic looking Type 35 replicas I've seen other than those $250,000 Argentinian exact recreations.
Deserves to sell for a good price - not sure if an ebay auction is the best way to sell it but it's already getting some serious bids so what do I know!
Good luck with the sale.

So have you started another one yet ? Judging by the bids you'll have people lining up
I think this beats all the vwbased cars hands down just for having the engine up front ...and it looks eccentric enough to appeal to a lot of people

Mr Towed Again thanks for the comments and your probably right about E-Bay but it does reach a world wide audience.
A good sale would be nice as R&D costs are crippling me at the moment.
Redratbike If asked I'll build another one for a price. But as I'v said, my next project will be a twin engine SUNBEAM 350hp BLUEBIRD replica.
I have driven a customers VW powered Bugatti 35 replica and the under steer in frightening particularly when pulling away at a junction as it tends to want to go straight on.

Micky - Great job.
There are a lot of nice touches on the car like the horn and oil can.
Hope the sale goes well, Paul.

Done the deed with DVLA and register the car properly.
Unbelievably it took less then 2 weeks for the V5 to be return and corrected.
Now registered as a TRIUMPH T35LS.
I now need to spend sometime on it and get it ready for sale.

I'v now removed the front mudguards in favour of fitting cycle wings.
That should make it look a little more Bugatti-ish or should I say VW-ish.

Mike - Good luck with the sale, which I'm sure will go better if Spring ever arrives!

Spent a few hours on this project trying to get it ready to sell.
The engine is running much better but I'm still having trouble with one carb.
As I can now drive it I turned my attention to the gear stick.
When I built the car I just extended the gear stick rather than move the gear shift which meant very long gear selection and the long gear stick ended up under your left leg when in forth gear!! not ideal!!
I made a "custom tool" to undo the gear linkage nut and bolt.
Then (with the help of a cheap £150 plasma cutter) I cut through the gear selector casting .
Made up a new longer selector shaft.
And bolted it into place.
As the gear selector is now bolted to the chassis rail in the gearbox tunnel I will add a pair of rubber bobins to help with the vibrations but for now this modification should make driving it much more "natural"

Spent nearly the whole weekend trying to sort out the carbs on this beastie.
Ended up replacing both carbs and still it is not running right.
It's running CD150 Stromberg carbs but you can put your hand over the first carb and the car will stop. Put your hand over the second carb and the car will carry on running as-if nothing happened.
I can even screw closed both jets and the bl**dy thing still carries on running
AIR LEAKS I here you saying well NO!! Manifold is air tight, butterfly spindles are tight, new diaphragm, correct float height, new carb gaskets ect !!!!
I am now looking at changing the main jets and needles.
On the plus side, I did manage to drive it down the road and forth gear is now much more comfortable to use.
I also changed the mudguards for some thing more in keeping.
The rear ones are a little short but it was all I had at the time.
