We want to register ours as a Charmarati or a charmarini and seeing what Hillbilly got away with that might just be possible. Sammio and Ribble (with due respect to Ribble who have turned the former spyder into a quality product ) but neither have any relevance to our project, however I would not mind if it were just registered as a "Reliant Special"

I forgot to say I deal a lot with 2CV powered kit conversion, most of which go to France, surprise, surprise.
I am told there is a lot of problems trying to register one of my conversion in France if it says "Citroen" in the title ie; "Citroen Roadster" or "Citroen Sportster".
The French (and I believe the German) system will not accept the model as a Citroen because Citroen do not make or produce it. Because it's not on the system the owner can't register it.

THE COMPUTER SAYS NO !!!!!!

I now register my conversions as a "Replica Roadster or "Replica Sportster" and this seems to get through.

If this "main dealer" title is here to stay then the exports of kit car will be affected.

Maybe we should go back to the old ways when the V5's read "re-bodied Triumph" or "Triumph Sports", the V5 for my re-worked Navigator reads "Triumph Coupe"

Just found this on the STICKY forum post

Once the vehicle has been accepted by DVLA following an inspection, it will require a different V5C description to reflect its new appearance. It is not allowable to use copyrighted names.

I really must "get a life"
