Default VAG diesel engine

Guess you've all heard how good the VAG PD engine is by now , wonder if anyone has thought of putting this in a kit-car
I went to the Autosport show and there's a raft of companies now specialising in diesel upgrades and some of the figures look immense.
Just wondering what 300lb/ft torque would look like in something weighing
600KG
I'd be looking at the 1.9PD in a seven type car. Has anyone done this
