Source for splined wheel adaptors
My splined wheel adaptors have just arrived, bought direct from MG SERVICES, HEATHROW for £280 delivered.
This includes 4x splined adaptors, 4x chrome spinners to suit, 16x chamfered nuts and a copper hammer. I haven't test fitted them yet but first impressions are that it's a very high quality set.
MG Services don't appear to have their own website (although they do occasionally list the short spitfire adaptors on ebay) but they can be contacted by email at:
mgheathrow@hotmail.com
This is the cheapest supplier I managed to find that could actually supply the adaptors. If anyone knows a cheaper source then perhaps they could use this thread to let everyone know...
I hope this helps.

YOU WOULD NEED TO DO THAT AS FAR AS I AM AWARE , THEY ARE ALL CHROME...
Don't go too cheap lads , there are varying qualities out there....one set I bought had poor threads....we have found the ones finished in a sort of satin black tend to be better ....but not a hard and fast rule...poor threads are a pain in the @rse....takes ages to sort out...

I thought all spinners were chrome? I'm going to leave mine chrome even though my wheels are painted.
I bought my adapters and assorted stuff from SC Parts:
http://www.scparts.co.uk/index/lang-...ctmenu-173.htm
Their head office is in London but they have an office down the road in Bridgwater and i spent a good 15 minuets talking to the guy there explaining what i was doing and what i was after and he was very good as apparently there are two hub adapters available. One for 13" wires and one for 14"/15" wires.

Second shout out for MWS in Slough.
They actually manufacture and machine the satin black ones on site.
I've bought mine from there and they are top quality.
Trevor.

The spinners are indeed chrome plated. I've gone for the 'undo left' and 'undo right' stamped type to make sure they don't get damaged when I fit and remove them.
Just in case anyone isn't aware, there are two types of spitfire splined adaptor: the 'short' type that will only fit the Dunlop 4 1/2" x 13" wheel and the 'long' version that will take 14" or 15" MG wheels. The short ones cost about £100 per set less than the long ones. Bah.
I'll take a closer look at the set I bought in the moring and report back on the quality, paying particular attention to the threads after what Gary said about the cheap ones being crap. Will post pics if possible too.

Had a closer look at my adaptors yesterday: they are MWS and are indeed top quality.
A number of people have bigged these up without saying what they paid for them, which is fair enough. I paid £280 delivered from MG services Heathrow, and it would be of benefit to new builders to know if there's a cheaper supplier of MWS adaptors out there somewhere.
So, anyone beat the price I paid?

There's honestly no secret!
I paid the amount on the link I posted earlier direct from wms. Around £170 for four.

Spinners included?
Trevor I take it your £170 was for the splined hub adaptors only, and Mr Towed had the adaptor and spinners that would maybe account for the difference in price. Please correct me if I am wrong. Incidentally what was the part number on the web site, is it the kit car hubs as I cant fathom out which i need....
Nice but dim Psycho pops.....

Thank you, I have a decent Lumix SLR that takes great pictures despite my complete lack of artistic talent. Damned clever chaps those Japanese.
I'll start posting more car pictures when my car starts looking more like a car and less like a pile of rust.
Here's one to keep you interested though.
The master closes another sale.

Looks like Detling!
I would of spoke Gary, but far too busy. I was looking at the Hawk stand at the AC Ace which i could build for £25000! But the Sammio still stood out from the rest.

Yes, funnily enough I've always loved the old racing Porsches, but looking at the photo of '66 that I took I see that there's a 550 spyder in the background.
Do you know I hadn't even noticed it before despite spending at least two hours loitering at Gary's stand.
I think Gary really nailed the styling of the Sammio, he's just got an eye for what works.
On the subject of other kits, I got a little excited when I saw a rebody kit to turn a mk2 MR2 into a Dino 246 alike. Basic body shell is just under £10k.
+vat.
They can feck off.

Hi Psycho pops,
That price was indeed just for the hubs, part numbers RSK105 and RSK104. (Kitcar left and right) - NOT to be confused with Sierra Kitcar left and right!
