MX250 New builder
Hello,
my name is Gerardo.
A few days ago, i placed my order for a MX 250 Hardtop kit.
Delivery should happen in December or January.
This will be my 4th kit.
First was a Robin Hood 2B with Pinto engine, second was a Westfield XTR2 with a ZX12R engine and third was a Tiger Cat with Pinto engine.
I still have the Westfield and the Tiger.
This build wil be quite different. Not many mechanics (i will take engine and gearbox out for a refresh ) but more body preparation and interior triming.
i hope that this time my wife will agree to come and ride with me in the car
So far now, i have bought a 1990 MX5 NA (1.6) with 160.000 km on the clock and started selling some parts i won't need any more ( hardtop, windblocker).
Only this is a third of the price i paid for the car
So, i will come to you with lots of questions in the future.
Gerardo

My build
Hello,
some times ago , i started building my kit.
Probably not the fastest build you 'll see...
Front is placed and yesterday i connectec the lights and indicators.
I am coming slowly to the moment i will bond the rear to the car.
Last thing to do before this is to have a roof ceiling applied by a professional.
This should be done next week.
here are some pictures of my build

Welcome Gerado,
You may find that the problem is not getting your wife into the car, but to stop her from driving it.

Take no notice of Barber, he still hasn't plucked up the courage to tell his wife what he is planning!

Sad but true., but, like comedy, the skill is in the timing.

Welcome Gerardo. Looking good so far. Love the wiper arms, I have been trying to find some for mine but no luck. I am now looking for somewhere that does chrome dipping too.

"Oh no you won't"
"Oh yes I will"
Haha, the cat is out of the bag.
I am still sleeping in the house, so it looks like it is game on.

Brilliant, thanks very much Geraldo!
Your strut to the the front arch base looks very factory!
...you can probably guess what I'm planning on doing over the break.

Hello all,
not done so much to the car those last weeks.
Too cold in the garage, too many work, and i bought a Discovery 2 for green laning ,
But , i finally found the wheels i was expecting :
I bougth a set of PLS Wheels 13".
I 'll probably paint the center Gold later.
i also want to put bigger tyres ( 80 serie) to fill the wheel arch.

Hello,
so i think that the moment has come to bond the rear.
I started cleaning the front paint.
Not bare metal at the moment, still a little bit of anti corrosion product on it.
but , i noticed that the bonding agent i received with the kit is now out of date ( 05/15)
So, do you think i still can use it ?
If not , what can i use ? i cannot find the same bonding agent here in Belgium.
