Very bad choice for a first kit, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone...
No build manual available - only Super 6.
There are loads of bits missing from the kit that need making yourself, eg. body to chassis brackets, bulkhead panels.
The (Super 6 based) mechanicals went together relatively easily, but the rest of it caused loads of problems, partly down to the fact that Tiger hadn't built one of the kits themselves (only the development car has been made).
The exhaust is a joke and will probably need replacing - needed modifying to fit and still isn't right.
The build took way more time than ever anticipated, with lots of head scratching. Building to a lower standard with lots of corners cut would reduce the build time, but I wanted to build it as best as I could so didn't rush anything.
Failed SVA only on the standard Tiger steering geometry, but relatively easy to fix.
The cost could be reduced a fair bit by buying the minimum (chassis, body and windscreen) from Tiger, then getting the rest elsewhere.
The finished car will probably be loads of fun, but definitely not worth the time and effort put into getting it finished. Stylus/Gemini/etc. would probably be a much better choice. |
