Neil Codd 2500 0 2 100 My father and built the car over the winter months 1990-91(80ish hours the other 20hrs were in sorting out the engine and gear box). Its done John o'Groats - Lands end. As my father no longer drives it.Its in my garage coving up 200 miles per an. Can only say its the best fun car ive had to date! (Having had cars from 1920,30 & 40's) and the least a mount of my tied up. And parts are still available!Like lots of Kit cars or older motors you have keep at them. I think poeple who want to build one from scratch would be wise to have a good look at the market and be very sure. As the kit its self it has its floors but 85% out of 100. The gel coating has this Marble effect (Which i dont like) But many people think its brill. (There was something wrong when the gel coating was being mixed i am told!)
IAN ROSCOE 3500 0 6 400 I bought the kit secondhand with the chassis already converted to 3 wheels, and registered as such with DVLA (build started 10 years previously and abandoned) The build was fairly straightforward, despite having virtually no instructions except those to be found on the LOMAX website, but I do have old experience from building 2 SPARTANS in the 80's. However I made it more difficult by altering the structure to incorporate mods. such as full harness belts, stereo etc. I still have the exhaust and a tonneau to source, and hope to get an MOT when the weather improves next year. The quality of the body parts is superb and the self coloured fiberglass body is moulded to the highest standard, being relatively light and yet strengthened in all the right places. I love the style of the Lomax, especially the fact that, like the Spartan, it is not a 'clone' and is instantly recognisable for what it is. Looking forward to rallying it next year.
john haden 1500 1 1 120 A delightful vehicle, unfortunately wiped out in Stourbridge on the ring road by an idiot who disregarded a one way ring road on a sharp bend. The combined impact of the cars was 80 mph head on.Due to the strength of the chassis I was in hospital for only 6 days, the police were amazed at this. We now live in the high Bavarian Alps,if any lomax owners are passing through our very beautiful town please look us up.The address is Obermarkt 33a 82481 Mittenwald Oberbayern Germany. Actually the entrance to the house is in Karlwendel Strasse 22,but that is another story. One should experience little difficulty finding us,we are the only two British residents.I believe we were one of the earliest builders, and later owned the firms show lomax244 with GS engine.
michael darragh 7000 0 11 400 It was no too bad considering both my self and father had no mechanical knowledge at the time. The help and advice from the company was dismal and unhelpful, they were very good to take the money but not too helpful. All I all the most help I got was from all the people at Yorkshire kit cars(elvington).now to the main reason I came to your web site, I am currently trying to sell my car, for a reasonable price of £3000 with full mot & tax any interest contact me on tel.01757-638510 or the above e-mail address. Thanks very much for your time, Michael Darragh
