Hugh Soulsby 14000 0 4 150 Its great. The build manual is very basic, but the web support, from the club, is second to none. Mark G would always help when rung, or pass me over to Stuart who builds them. The finish is realy clean, with good joint gaps on the body, no rattles or squeaks. Realy pleased with the end result.
Hacon Mike 16000 0 5 500 I also had a bad experience building a Grinnall. The kit was not ready after 4 months, so I collected what was available. During the build I had to call weekly to get parts - even some which were on the list as supplied but not in the box.I had no proper receipt or owners manual- makes registering difficult. The car failed the SVA first time even though I called Grinnall to check that everything was ok. This car is not SVA compliant with the parts supplied in the kit. Grinnall 'lent' me parts to pass the test, but also debited my card for hire of the parts. Now the car is on the road it is good fun, but I am still waiting for electronic traction control I paid for 9 months ago. Grinnall appears to be punishing me for trying to get what I paid for, no longer wants to speak to me or return my calls. I can not recommend anyone to spend their money on a Grinnall unless you really really want that car and can put up with this treatment. There are plenty of other manufacturers who will treat you as a valued customer.
William Cagliostro 15000 1 1 150 Buying the scorpion lll has been a huge loss of time and money.I was told it would take 6 weeks for my kit to be ready for shipping and 3 weeks to ship to Florida USA.I ordered it over a year ago and I paid in full for it last year.I flew here from Asia to recive it about a year ago.I'm just getting it now.Grinnall refused to provide the broker with a detailed invoice needed for clearence. This just added to many other problems with this kit. There are many parts missing that I paid for.No build manual,no owners manual,no paper work and paint damage.I asked for these items and I was emailed a rough builders guide and told all parts are there.I contacted them again asking for the missing parts but no responce.I hope no one ever goes through what Ive been through with Grinnall. My scorpion is for sale.William J. Cagliostro.
