I'd strongly recommend that you find the best donor you can, then sell the parts you don't need on ebay.
I paid £845 for my Vitesse, which came with a reconditioned, unleaded 2 litre six and, so far, I've got £747 back for the spares with the bonnet alone fetching £311. Someone even paid me a decent sum for the windscreen frame I'd cut off!
That means the chassis, engine and gearbox cost me £98 and I've still got a few bits to sell on.
Anyway, good luck whatever you decide to do.
