A couple of questiions about the Marlin supplied carpet

I am just about to fit my carpets. Just to make life a bit more interesting I have taken the DIY approach. Spent yesterday making up paper templates but what I am wondering is.

Is the Marlin carpet for the gearbox and transmission tunnel all in one piece? It would be huge and not easy to handle I guess...

On the outside where the doors are, how far up the sides does it go in the footwells? I was going to finish mine in line with the top of the doors.

Cheers

Hi Robin,
the gearbox and transmission is all one piece back to a couple of inches behind the handbrake. The back piece behind the seats then overlaps the transmission piece. I put 'v' shape cut outs in the transmission pice to get it to follow the contours.
The outside pieces just go up a bit behind the dashboard to wher the scuttle is.

Hope this helps,

Here are the photos of mine, http://www.msportster.co.uk/detail.asp?cat=13&offset=96 I've not got many from this process. As Peter said the tunnel is all one piece. I didn't cut mine I just laid and glued it. The material is quite good for complex shapes.

It's all once piece to the back, then then bit that goes left to right at the back laid over it.

Don't forget to cut holes for the belt before gluing down as doing it after is a pain (as I found out  )

This bit was a right paint to get laid right:
