Joe's Alterative MX250 Hardtop
We had a visit from a customer called Joe who wanted an MX250C, but after seeing the "Alternative" MX250 front end he left with another idea:
http://i1046.photobucket.com/albums/...psc881a5ac.jpg This is the first draft for his car, which has already developed further still. This is going to be a very interesting build......... |
Oooh I do like that. Of course the great thing about my flip front is I can change it in a blink....
I do like your house Chris. Plenty of room on the drive for cars. |
I like the 3/4 windows behind the driver.....def. adds to the car

That does look very nice Chris. Moves away from replica land and becomes a great looking car in its own right. I'm looking forward to seeing this one in the flesh.
|
What a stunner. Looks beautiful.
Now that is what I call a 'teaser.' |

I like it but if it were me I would not do the Aston Martin grill. It looks too big to me. Plus, everyone will think that you are trying to replicate. I would make a nice oval using the width of the narrower section and using the existing bottom of the grill opening and eliminate the wings. Then it would move further from a replica. Just my 2 cents which means pretty much nothing!
Like the side windows! I wish I had your photoshop skills. Outstanding. |
|
Lookin' sweet!
That's something similar to what I'll be after when I finally make space to start my build.
The alternative, AM-inspired front end looks great but I'd still like to keep the ragtop. An MX250c AM, if you will. You couldn't knock out a mock-up pic of that when you've got 5 minutes could you Chris? I know I'm putting the cart before the horse at times but I'm already running through paint jobs in my head - I fancy a darker metallic grey / silver but then I love the colour of the DB5 in Goldfinger - could set it off a treat! Anyway, back to looking at sheds so I can clear my garage. :bolt: |
My Photoshop skills are lacking.......but if I was to have a front like this, I would massage it in a bit like this.....to my liking :-

This project has been progressing very slowly in the background at the workshop. It is something that will get finished (it's too good an idea not to), but due to the subsidised price of the project, other things like kit sales etc need to come first, but it will get done one day Joe
Joe's base car arrived at the workshop on the day we moved in http://i1046.photobucket.com/albums/...ps1f3d95b9.jpg http://i1046.photobucket.com/albums/...ps83844277.jpg An MX250 hardtop kit with the "alternative" front end was hung on our workshop car and cut'n' shut http://i1046.photobucket.com/albums/...ps2c7e6562.jpg http://i1046.photobucket.com/albums/...ps9ae8318f.jpg http://i1046.photobucket.com/albums/...psea7902fb.jpg http://i1046.photobucket.com/albums/...ps2c820e37.jpg http://i1046.photobucket.com/albums/...ps78178148.jpg http://i1046.photobucket.com/albums/...ps9eea7da3.jpg |
Chris, I wish that I could cut and paste with you. Your very good at it!
|
Your project seems to be progressing nicely, and probably it will cost 1/20th of what an Aston DB4 Zagato replica (DB7 based) built by Evante would probably cost.
Check it out at. http://www.evanta.co.uk/DB4-Zagato.htm#all Best of luck with the project. 😊 |
Love the look of the back, what car is the roof taken from and how are you going to get round the rear side windows?
and will there be a convertible version?.... http://i1273.photobucket.com/albums/...psba6d6d9a.jpg Interesting to follow this build |
I think the evanta back end is too long. But as its based on a db7. Room for a tent and a squishy weekend bag and a bike and set of cutlery and a hamper and a cudly toy, wobbly man.
