Hi
I’ve seen that one on eBay, don’t like the body styling of that kit due too the front lower valance scoop and same on the front of the lower rear wings just looks wrong. Regards Rob |
Maybe this one then, probably the best example I've seen and a very reasonable price for a finished car.

very nice

That’s very nice more like it only problem is I would have to sell the mog for that one.
I’m really looking for something in between that needs work / or upping the spec. Regards Rob |
Good luck. I think your going to need to sell your MOG. Unless your very lucky. They are like hens teeth.
Just look at the Lancia Stratos rep that was up for sale on e-bay last week, unfinished, unregistered in need of a whole lot of work and bidding went to nearly £18k and it still didn’t reach its reserve . Personally I think they are going to be harder and harder to get hold of and with that the price is going to climb. All the best though. |
That's why the one above is good value as it's finished. You might find a part built for around £10 - 15k but you could spend that much again to finish it.
There is a part built Southern Roadcraft Daytona on ebay at under £4k, that is a real bargain but you will be spending a lot to finish it off ! |
I know the right Dino kit project is getting harder to find, it might be that I’ve got to go for a finished car.
The deon as above is the kit I’m looking for. I was lucky a few years back to pickup a 1968 Marcos woody in boxes rebuilt it and in a moment of madness I sold her and purchased the mog I will run the mog this year and hope something comes up if not look around for a finished car next year. |
I stopped by the new Morgan showroom and visitor centre today. They've done a great job transforming what was an old MOD building, formerly the RSRE Malvern Social Club . Lots of cars on display outside and a plush and swanky showroom full of the latest models, new canteen and shop indoors . Well worth a look if your in the Malvern area.

Hi
I’ve been in contact and looking to go down tomorrow to view. |
Silverstone Auctions are hosting a sale of classic Ferrari's on Saturday 5th June. Lots include several Dino's as well as other models and automobilia.
Probably out of reach for most but there could be a bargain to be had ! https://www.silverstoneauctions.com/ |
Deon rebuild
Hi All
I’m now the proud owner of a project Deon Dino 1990 kit being delivered tomorrow. The car is complete but In need of a lot of tlc. and I would like to improve on some of the detail so some help needed on that one as I comes with new chrome bumpers all round so need some information on the fitting of these from the old kit type to the new ones. New set of chrome badge set and rear lights. She is a lancia 2ltr stage one tuned with twin 45 Webber’s fitted I will start with a strip down and remove body so I can repaint the chassis . So any contact details, photos and opinions on improvements would be welcome. Any Deon Dino near Herefordshire I could look at for detail. Regards Rob |
Congrats on finding the Dino..

Well done. Now the hard work starts . Let’s see some pics of her

I bought replica rear lights which are still available on ebay (see https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/402752065161 ) .They needed bulb holders but I had some Toyota MR2 ones left over from my F355 replica build so I used those ( I also need shorter bulbs as the longer ones fouled the plastic lens). I also bought chrome rings on ebay but these don’t appear to still be available. Both of the above can be bought from Superformance but are a bit more expensive (see http://www.superformance.co.uk/246/lights.html) Some people use Opel GT (1969 to 1973) rear lights which are similar to the Dino ones but they are pretty rare these days. Superformance are also pretty competitive price wise for badges (http://www.superformance.co.uk/246/badges.html) Front Dino badges can also be found on ebay (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/333632525...8AAOSwobpgFA5p) Like you I bought a project car, a Classic replicas kit, it came with the pictured bumper fixings which bolt through holes in the underside of the bumper and on to the chassis. I also have a set of rear bumpers which have welded fixing points for mounts which resemble those of the original Dino and a picture I’ve found of the original Dino mounting brackets. All the best Neil |
Hi Neil
Yes it was that one I purchased it arrived today, it’s going to be a body off restoration as the chassis is solid but the paint is flaking. The doors bonnet, boot had been removed and painted ready to go back on by the last owner, all interior and glass had been removed so half the work has been done for the body removal. brand new rear lights and chrome bumpers with the black rubber round the Center line came with the car but not fitted, if anyone can help with a drawing / picture and measurements for brackets to fit this type of bumper would be a great help. Any tricks or don’ts on the body removal. Regards Rob |

Hi Rob Do your bumpers have the bumper fixings as per the attached pictures? If they do then they are either original Ferrari Dino bumpers or the stainless steel replacements made by Harrington group. In either case I'm afraid you are on your own with regard to bumper brackets as they will require some special one off mounts to fit your Deon chassis. On my car my plan is to weld some tubes to the chassis and fit something similar to the original ferrari dino T shaped mounting brackets (pictured in my previous post) which will slide inside the tubes.
