Gee whizz that is crazy money for a beach buggy , a very nice one. As you say, this must be a record.

There is a similar one - Manx and spotless - that regularly turns up at the pub classic car meet that I attend. I wonder if he knows how much it's worth!

They sold another for big money at the weekend. I really don't know why they are so valuable, perhaps hand built cars are beginning to get the recognition they deserve ?

I guess the youngsters who want a beach buggy no longer have the desire to build one for themselves. The only alternative is to buy one already built?

I sold this last September,
the chap who bought it added new wheels, exhaust, steering wheel and some F badges, along with a stripe. He also added over 100K , fair play to him if he can get close to that sort of money. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/304970057...f7d7%7Ciid%3A1 |
Same with my old 250 Testarossa. I thought I did well achieving the price I got but it was to a dealer. He promptly tripled the price and sold it, then it was sold again with another 20k added to the price !
I see the original Ferrari running gear and new body created from the above is up for sale. The seller now claiming it as an original, its a long story ! https://www.carandclassic.com/car/C1587763 The classic and classic replica scene is where the money is at. Many of the cars at Malvern in the trade hall fell into this category , GT40's and most of the Cobra's and the Stratos etc etc. To think my first kit, a Brightwheel Viper was 995 for the body and chassis kit, totalled well under 5K to complete ! |
