Hail all!

Now then to all you kit car owner. (lucky swines )

I have been reading the posts the last few days to see how things have been going since the new beginnning. I found the site through the advert in the KitCar magazine so I though I should register.

Unfortunatly, I, myself, me, do not own a kit car

But I have been looking around and have been to a few of the kit car showns around the country this year. My favouite being the Harrogate show btw.

My girlfriends, dad - Keith, is awaiting the arival of the first few parts of his Westfield Seight kit. I think its due to arrive in Febuary next year. Hes got a Rover V8 engine and gear box off some bloke that he found through the yellow paper. Heres the problem. The number on the block looks to me like its been tampered with. Like some idiots chiselled away at the code. I have had a good look round the internet looking for a list for Rover V8 engine numbers but found nothing. Does anyone know who I should ask for help in identifying the engine?

Cheers...

Dan.

Hi Dan, and welcome.

If you were looking to buy and were worried, I'd suggest walking away... Now that it's already been bought, if you want to check on the engine number I'd suggest getting in contact with one of the Rover V8 specialist tuners or suppliers.

There are adverts for more than a few in the issue of KCM that you already have (although Den won't complain if you buy another one)

John,
I’m working on a special paper to print Kit Car magazine on  . Like rice paper that dissolves in water :eusa_liar: , except it simply dissolves into thin air upon the next issue coming out :eusa_doh: . The idea is to force folk like Dan to buy a new one if he wants to find a suppliers ‘phone number  .

Due to technical problems, I can’t find a source of supply of such paper :eusa_pray: .

Dan,
Seriously, in respect to your problem, I’d suggest that you get a log book from any vehicle in which you’d find a Rover motor. Send the log book to Swansea changing its engine number to one that fits whatever number (you can make out) on the block you’ve got :eusa_liar: . Then when you come to register your kit, simply tell your LVLO that your engine came from the car whose number whose log book you’ve got to back it up.

Naughty, but it’ll work :eusa_naughty: .

Den
