Are there any new builds underway anywhere?

Any existing builds progressing?

Any on-the-road cars out-n-about?

Dave - I'm still waiting to see a few more photos of your car out-n-about.

:icon_wink:

Jokes aside, I really hope you are out enjoying the sunshine.

Take care, Paul. :)

Is automotive GRP no longer in business? I have sent emails inquiring about purchase of one of their kits and have heard no reply at all. I used their webform on the http://www.migliasportscars.co.uk website. I am quite interested and hope to hear back from them.

As far as I'm aware he is still in business, as my spot of 2 Miglia shells heading north on the M5 the other night seems to suggest.

What you're encountering is the legendary "Poole Communications Triangle" that also affected original Sammio :)

It is popular opinion that the best (possibly only guaranteed) way to get hold of Mike is to call him directly, or pop-in if you're local.

He does also come on here occasionally, but he is a very busy boy by all accounts!

Fingers crossed you make contact as it'll be great to see some more cars on the road.

I am planning to purchase a kit in the not too distant future so hope they are still in production! I'm trying to secure a new job at the moment though (I've been out of work for 5 months).

I have been reading all the threads on here with great enthusiasm and interest. As a first time builder, having a knowlegable community to share advise on how to tackle common problems will be invaluable.

I have a supercharged 1990 MX5 to play with in the meantime which I have modified extensively to give the flavour of a 1960s sports racer.

That may or may not be sold to fund a Miglia build.

Well, it's quite but not dead. My build has been on extended hold for family reasons, but I have recently felt the first stirrings of Spring and have been taking inspiration from Swifty's build over on the Sammio page- some real craftsmanship shown there.

I have also been looking at some tools - a bead roller to put some ribs in the floor pans (I am replacing Mike's fibreglass with Ally) and some swage punch dies, to cut and shape lightening holes.

Still haven't started my engine yet, so that remains the priority, and then will see how the flow of funds progresses.

Just beginning to come out of hibernation myself. Inspiring stories on here and just make me want to get back out in the garage...done some bits and pieces and seem to have collected a lot of parts - 'just' need to get them on the car!

I look forward to seeing some progress on all the builds soon then :)

I keep looking at those bead rollers and swage punches as I've seen some lovely professional looking results done with them. So i cant wait to see what you come up with :)

Yep. Off to Stoneleigh at end of month to pick up some missing odds and sods to start the engine rebuild - basically non-stress bearing bolts and washers etc. And hoping that summer cashflow improves somewhat to allow some further progress.

Pics will follow
