Hi guys.

I did a resistance check for the steering column thread to earth and don't get a good reading. This is needed for the centre of the steering wheel for the horn earth.

Did anybody else have this problem?

John,

I've got mine earthed at the central nut and it works fine...have you got all the support clamps bolted on etc...oh and make sure the knuckle joint don't clash with yer clutch pedal!

Hi John.

I've earthed mine using the same nut. But doing a check with the multimeter, the resistance to earth from the spindle is useless. The central shaft in the column must need to get earthed via the rack, then to the chassis somehow. Will have a play tonight with the multimeter.

The brackets only connect to the "outer" part of the column not the inner part required for the horn.

I jusy stripped the wire and "trapped" it using the centre nut on the wheel. Is that how you did yours?

Found the problem area. It's the steering column to rack knuckle where it's loosing it's electrical connection.

A bit of a so and so now to get it off.
