I have recently purchased a part built Sporster it has no exhaust and therefore no Lambda sensor. The engine runs ok as the ECU is wired ok but there is no wiring for a Lambda sensor fitted.
I have looked through the Haynes BMW book and can find no reference to there being a lambda sensor on the original E30 325i Sport.

Do i need to fit a sensor?

The lambda sensor was only fitted to a very few 325's - those with a cat. My donor had one but only because it was an import from Switzerland! So if you haven't got one u probably dont need one!

It was only very late model 325i E30's that had CATs, they become a requirement in 1992.

Mine does not have one and worked fine without before I took the donor to bits.
