Who's planning on going where?

This year, the only one I've got in mind at the moment is Exeter at the end of the year as i should be done by then:
http://www.kitcar-shows.co.uk/exeterkit.htm

I should also be going (without car) to the Highbridge vintage vehicle festival this weekend. If i can find out any more details about it or even it's location it, as the signs by the motorway are rubbish!

I'm already pondering next year and at the moment the shortlist is:

21/22 April 2012 - Bristol Classic Car Show - http://www.bccsl.co.uk/ (it's only 25 mins away for me down nice country lanes!)

Summer 2012 - Mark Moor International vehicle festival - http://mmivf.yolasite.com/ (it was a SUPERB show in 2010!)

6/7 May 2012 - Stoneleigh - http://www.grosvenorshows.co.uk/html/National_Kit_Car_Motor_Shows.html (if the weather is good, as it's quite a trek for me)

Summer 2012 - Hampton Ferry - http://www.madabout-kitcars.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2939

Eventual list will obviously depend on what day-passes i can get from the present wife.

Anyone else going or planning on going anywhere interesting and we can start thinking about all meeting up?

WE ARE HOLDING BACK FROM ATTENDING TOO MUCH MORE THIS YEAR TO GET SOME DEVELOPMENT STUFF DONE...

I think we will go to THE REVIVAL , fantastic , inspirational show...and we are definitely doing EXETER...Hoping to go with a bigger stall this year.

We only had one car last year , but , time permitting , hoping to have at least one spyder , maybe two , a 550 and a G-46 at some stage of build - probably a rolling , dressed shell.

I know Gary was there last year, but 2012 is on 08th and 09th April 2012 and is the 22nd year running in Kent. http://www.car-shows.co.uk/detlingkit.htm

For all you "Westoners" its almost a trip to Europe, as its always billed as the European Kit & Sports Car Show.

Now there is a thought! a Le-Mans Classic trip:target:

Thinking of taking the 46 to this one on the trailer .....will need to check thats ok and I don't get relegated to the back of the visitors car park !!

If we can get body fully fitted and maybe bonnet in place....

Wonder if my '95 s10 Chevy tow truck qualifies as a classic ? !!

28th October 2011, 11:12
I'll be there quite early on in the day as it's only 25mins from me.

If i'm finished painting the Spyder this weekend (minor cracking issues) i'll try and get everything back on an get it MOT'd next week and possiblly take that if it's dry.

If not then i'll be taking the sensible car and my two lads.

I popped up to the classic car restoration show today with both my sons and it was a good do! Twice as many people there as last year, twice as many classic cars in the car park and many more "real" autojumble people as well as all the cheepo tool types.

I also spotted skippy in the car park and managed to say hello to Pat. Sorry i couldn't stay and gossip longer matey, but trying to keep my two little-uns under control is like hearding cats!

I picked up a bike style tax disc holder, oil pressure gauge, new smaller front indicators and a load of other useful bits and bobs.

If anyone is thinking of going tomorrow i'd heartily recommend it, especially if it's dry as there were loads of Triumph bits-n-bobs and load of assorted other odds-n-sods to dig through to personalise your cars with. e.g There were some really nice rear lights in amongst the jumble! and some really cool gauges and dials.

Seeing as the nights are starting to slowly get longer and a number of people are already on the road and some of us are nearing completion :ballchain: i've started thinking about where to go this year.

So taking bits from all the threads, i've compiled the below and it looks as though the calendar is looking good for 2012, although this is a bit SW biased due to obvious reasons :)

February 11/12 - The FORD Show & The Great Western Autojumble (Bath & West showground) - http://www.nwe.co.uk/

April 7/8 - Detling kit car show - http://www.detlingkitcarshow.co.uk/

April 21/22 - Bristol Classic Car Show (Bath & West showground) - http://www.bccsl.co.uk/

May 6/7 - National Kit Car Show (Stoneleigh) - http://www.nationalkitcarshow.co.uk/

After-May 6/7 - Sammio Gathering - (campsite by Poole) - TBC

June 10 - HAMPTON FERRY CLASSIC CAR AND BIKE SHOW (Evesham,
Worcestershire.) - http://www.hamptonferry.com/events.html

August 26 - Mark Moor International vehicle festival (Mark, Somerset) - http://mmivf.yolasite.com/ (My Local show as it's only a few miles away and it was a SUPERB show in 2010!)

October 20/21 October - Exeter Kit car show - http://www.exeterkitcarshow.co.uk/

Good job Dave.

No complaints about it being SW orientated

I've only just put the deposit down on my Spyder kit, so will try and make the shows in it from Stoneleigh on :eusa_liar:

My lads have booked my in for http://www.lemansclassic.com/en/the-village-show-is-on and I am certainly looking forward to it. Everything ready for us to go, was a bit concerned about my car going on the ferry at first. Booked our tickets to Calais, they have arrange for someone at the port to get a special ramp out, we just need to get there ealy to avoid traffic and the rush.
Have finished some body work so hopefully all goes well and the weather doesnt ruin this day!
