Hello

Firstly hello everyone

I have encountered a problem building my Kit car :-( it is probarbly a really easy fix too

I am hoping to start my engine for the first time in about five years tommorrow but have a wire that is attached just below the carb (the anti dieselling valve?, just above the inlet manifold) it is red and isnt connected to anything else.
What does it connect too?

there is a black wire going to the side of the engine which is the temp sensor so its not that, i think it is the anti dieselling vavle which i presume would be connected to the ignition wire? but im really unsure

My engine is from a c reg sierra ohc and is a 1.6

Thankyou in advance for your help

i used to have a sierra 1,6 it might be the electric choke , on my old car there was a choke heater inbetween the manifold and carb , with a singe wire going to to the ignition switch i think it was a ford vv carb , but not sure, it was a long time ago hope this helps

cheers for the quick reply :peace:
this was one of my other thoughts, would this wire be live all the time when the ignition is on? if so would it over heat or does it not matter??

i should think that there would be a bimetal cut out in the choke element that cuts the supply once it has warmed up ,or somewhere in the loom if it was constant, the wire would burn out

After closer inspection it appears to be a pipe/tube, the same diameter as a wire (hence the confusion)
ive attached a pic :-)

cheers for all your help
