Does anyone know if somebody else sells these (the SVA ones) for a better price?

It's a longshot but do you still have your stoneleigh showguide? There was a stand close to Europa spares stand selling them for £54 a set. I was tempted but didn't. Wish I had now. The showguide lists all stands in each hall, so you could try some of them. Good luck!

I looked for them while I was there but couldn't find them :( I've got the show guide at home, I will check - thanks :)

They've only got the one with the hook on it:

Price is much better though 20.50inc VAT.

I was all set to buy them from Europa but I forgot all the prices are without VAT - near had a heart attack when I looked at the shopping basket. Then they wanted £11 to ship them! You could probably stick them in a squishy envelope and send via the royal mail for £2.50! (well maybe not, but you get the idea :) )

Perhaps the other type is made specially for Europa. I am sure it is the same casting - they just cut the hook off before they plate it.

Marlin's current price is £18.99 each plus post and VAT and they are just like the ones from Europa.

They were 22 something from Marlin so I ordered them there - still cheaper than Europa. Didn't have any luck with the Stoneleigh guide but then I can't read maps... :lol:

Have a look at these;

Southco V7 catches.
A little pricey but really ninely made and lockable.

Now that looks like a really useful site! Shame you need to sign up before they will show you the prices.

I might order some hinges for my doors if they are not too much, the marlin effort can only be described as a 4 letter word beginning with C, wobble, wobble, wobble!

Looking back through my receipts, four V7 catches with locks (I got four with the same key), plus carriage/VAT cost a shade under £60.00.

Sounds pricey but it's £10.76 each before VAT.

That is a good price, I paid about £100 for the SVA ones at the top of the page from Marlin with postage & VAT.
