Yep, but a lot of photographinghoto:, listing time and arranging to be around for buyers to turn up , so didn't account for any of that in the equation, but still surprised by the amount I managed to recoup, mostly in the tyres and wheels, mirrors and lights.

Sorry, couldn't resist putting up a pic.

Car came back today as a 'painted shell' I.e. All panels fitted to car and aligned/painted, but I now have to fit everything on to it and undertaken permanent wiring. Car arrived just as the heavens opened so got in under cover quickly, haven't really had chance to see it in sun light yet, but it is shiny for sure, will start putting more pics up as I go, however need to let paint settle for some days before before touching it, I know everyone's keen for more pics and I promise to post more soon.

My first impressions of paint are very good, and I am told in sunlight it gives a pearlescent shine too.

Oh yes long story on that one, but will expand more when on pc proper keyboard and not iPad one finger typing!

Brushed Alloy paint

The paint that was used to give the brushed alloy effect needed to be applied at a high temperature, too high for a GRP surface (Warping and shrinkage), but am told would be ok on a metal surface. They did try it at a lower temperature and it came out a matt grey finish. So it was re-done. I was looking for a chrome finish originally and brushed alloy was the nearest I could get to it, so this is why we tried it. The paint was an effect paint from Germany and I am told was high metal flake content but really runny like water, unlike normal paint which is much thicker in consistency. So I ended up with a silver high reflective finish paint, which is bright and shiny and much closer to my original thinking. The car was painted gloss white before the effect paint was applied, apparently this makes it more reflective. The whole process took sometime with considerable amount of hours to get it to where it is now, which I am grateful to all concerned

Please kindly don't ask me any technical questions on the above or flame me if you think it is nonsense as this is what I have been told and I am certainly no paint expert or anywhere close to being one.

Here you go, I moved it out of garage tonight to have a closer look, The door gaps are mega compared to what they were and paint is nice and shiny even in low light of the day, cant wait to get it out in full sunlight.

Obviously there lots of work to do now and I will have to be extra careful putting it all back together.

Thanks for the comments everyone, much appreciated, the suns out today and I want to get it out in the bright light to see how it looks, will take some more pics.

@Jaguartvr - I am told hot air gun ran over the surface, and also I was driving the car around for some time before painting so its had a chance to acclimatize. fingers crossed on this one though. Grill surround is painted the same colour as the car, its easy enough to replace if something better comes along . I spoke to the painter about extra paint and he said would be problematic doing touch up due to properties needed, so alternatives being looked at.

@DaveP - Yes black is a consideration, however I want it all blingy but may reconsider once all back together when I see what what it ends up looking like.

First took passenger door off to fit mirrow and handle, also drill some drainage holes (@Jaguartvr - good idea!)

Also took opportunity to clean up some overspray on base of windows, but no too worried as will cover with Trim at some point.

Next was the numberplate, front grill and first fog light, oh and fitted uprated gas struts, they work but some mod is needed to the brackets as they touch/rub. Also noticed that the side front wing drivers side has been slit and reglassed when Nubodi had it, its an excellent job as it brings all the gaps and surfaces together.

As they didn't have one of these on the only real car I have seen and measured up (Ferrari Museum in Italy) I ended up studing many pictures of those cars that have it on already and with the use of the computer worked out from various perspectives the relative dimensions compared to the height and width of the front air in take. From that then determined the overall position and size, etc.

Screen will be perspex and either 2mm or 2.5mm width I will ask for a couple to get made up so I can replace, when I get the inevitable stone chip!

Angle seems to be between 5 and 8 degrees with the top slanting backwards to the front windscreen, however some fine tuning will be undertaken at point of fitting.

Yes good point about the holes, do you know anyone else having one made and where from? Seems silly to duplicate effort.

Progress slow as further work needed before getting road worthy, don't worry I am doing it on purpose to let others catch up!!! I don't want to be one of the first to finish, as need to 'steal' others ideas hoto:

Car is away at the moment being worked on, I have got a few others lined up to do somethings on it, so will be driving it too and fro this summer to get it detailed.

Wind deflector is being designed currently and am awaiting for quotation for bracket, I think the screen is pretty easy to make (2d and all that) but will rely on Bracket. I think I threw a curve ball as want it shiny and good looking from front and rear perspectives, but I'm patient so no worries.

Looking forward to hearing about Chrome FX from you as and when you get to see them!

You will notice, missing door handles and mirrors and some electrics on rear to do still before MOT.

Thanks everyone, comments much appreciated, however still lots more to do including detailing. I am very happy with the prep and paint that has been achieved and it is of a standard that I could not of achieved, which I thank Nubodi for, I have to say there were a few glitches but they were all resolved to my satisfaction, so for me worked out fine. This gives me a great basis to build and finish the car that I envisioned and can't believe I've been working on this car on and off for just over a year now.

Can't wait to drive it around and use the damn thing!

I'm a little worried about the pending MOT as can't seem to bring height of main beam down even at fully adjustment, probably going to have to shim them for mot, or let air out of front tyres, anyone came across this already? Suggestions?

Hi, wheel are calibre from demon tweeks and tyres I can't remember as not home to look currently, however think I mentioned it somewhere in my thread , sorry you might have to look back if you want a quick answer but they are all Dunlop sport tyres. Cheers

Thanks I also need a sympathetic mot tester as I am sure things will need adjusting, read lots of forum points about wooden wheel swap, I have light on dash that goes out after ignition as have passenger bag in place. So hopefully will be ok with that, also read mot test rules to make sure, we will know shortly though! All the best.

Ha ha working remotely on phone so didn't see your edit, I have adjustable suspension on rears and some thicker shims under them to get ride height correct, not touched to my knowledge.

Thanks for comments, for mirrors, I drove around with them late last year and although visibility isn't great they did the job, and also going for look than practicality, each to their own I guess. Will have to strip doors off to fit mirrors and handels, no biggy just need time to remove and fit with screw lock. Also I have no intention of driving at night so although hids sound great, for me not too much of a draw back, especially as headlights are pointing skywards currently on max adjustment.

I'm not also sold on bug screen but really want to get close to vision in my mind, so will at least see how it looks, will not drill holes until 100% satisfied. Let's see how we go on that one.

Side indicator lens are original Oem Ferrari, in fact the only true Ferrari parts on the car, not sure if you can source them clear, but sure you can get close to them by looking around.
