What fuel cap and filler have any builders gone for,are there any sva issues with filler neck size and does sva dictate the mirrors used?

I've using an aero type filler cap, you need an unleaded flap to inside the filler neck to pass SVA (I can see why I don't remember the last time I saw leaded at the pumps!) - the other issue with SVA is minimum radius of the edges - some aston type caps will not pass so if you want to use for one of those you need to look for one that is specifically designed to pass SVA.
Also have a set of chrome bullet mirrors but these wont pass SVA. Spotted some cheap universal fit plastic folding mirrors in halfords. The mounting system is such the the bullet mirrors can be fitted, taken off and the halfords one put on in place for SVA.
SVA spec for mirrors is a minimum size and the ability to fold if someone were to be hit by them. Don't remember the exact specs of the top of my head.

Hmm - I thought you only needed the flap if you were running a cat? - perhaps someone would like to correct me on that?

Just found this in the SVA manual.

Section 18, page 2), check that the fuel tank
cannot be filled directly from a petrol pump
nozzle having an external diameter of 23.6mm
or more.

So - my interpretation is if you don't have a cat you dont need the flap/restrictor in the fuel filler.
Would anyone else like to comment?

Hmm well I have one that people can borrow for the test if needed when I'm done with it, same goes for the mirrors!
PS, wrong colour anyway! Richard's compact is nice and quick now
Not sure the E36 will ever feel as quick as your E30 due to the extra lard!

The neck of the Mocal cap is machined in such a way so that a restrictor can be fitted and secured with a circlip.

I have a standard filler with no adaptor and as my car dosnt have a CAT it wasnt a requirement for SVA and passed.
