Have considered mazda mx5 and bmw z3 seats but with the thought of recovering and modifying I have likely decided on the roadster 7 like Patricks.Has anybody fiteed inertia standard belts? If I have to get a harness set up are any available in inertia form?

There is a harness with inertia reel - I think I saw it in the Europa catalog. I was thinking of using it myself but I am not sure there is room at the back of the Marlin for the inertia unit to fit.

Will have a look at that ,thanks. Did Patrick have his seats trimmed in his own leather /vinyl if my memory serves me right; I cant see the cream trim available for the cobra seat?

Yup, I ordered direct from Cobra and sent them my own vinyl. Good service too I got the vinyl from Marlin so it would match the rest of the interior

You need 4 meters of vinyl to cover 2 cobra roadster 7's I think that was £20 from Marlin

I had them made with harness holes, but without the cobra logo on the top - they were £200 each including shipping and vat. That was end of 2005.

I cant remember off the top of my head how long it took them to arrive but it wasn't overly long. I dealt with marc [at ] cobraseats.com

Hi,

I've found a pair of MX5 seats from the scrappies.
They fit okay but the driver's seat will only fit on the passenger's side 'cause the reclining lever sticks out and fouls the chassis.

The seat runners have ends which are angled down about 20° where they bolt to the body, so all I have to do is to make 4 angled blocks to be threaded and welded to a length of 30mm flat strip to mount the seat.

This will spread the load across the floorpad and keep the SVA guys happy.

Sitting in the seat and pushing it to the rearmost position, I figure a six footer will be okay, just. But a bit of a squeeze for a basketball player.

There are lots of MX5s out there and the seats are quite comfy thank you.

Any chance of a picture of the MX5 seats in position? Sounds like a great alternative to the aftermarket seats.

Will the tonneau fit over them?

Still on this issue, has anyone seen a picyure of the richfield rx100 with the headrest on it Cant find it on their site even though it is listed.This would be a compromise between classic seat abd safety.

The seats I have have removable headrests.
With these removed, the seats backs are about level with the rear body work.
So a tonneau can be used without too much aggro.

Any chance of a picture of the seats in position please? There are some on e-bay at the moment (within reasonable collection distance) but I would like some idea of how they look in position before I hand over my cash!

I hope our Sportster will look like that soon! I've got two weeks over Easter booked off so I hope we can make a lot of progress
