Saw what you have been doing to your car on another forum.

I must say that I think it is starting to look really good (didn't expect that, did you).

What have you got planned to finish it?

BTW show us a pic of what it looks like now.

sorry for the delay, i've been spending too much time on pistonheads :biggrin:

. The alien had evolved from the picture you mention, but all work stopped 2 years ago when I moved to Germany and the car stayed in England :eusa_boohoo:

. I should be returning next year, but in the meantime I have had many ideas on how to finish it, and slowly details are dropping into place, eg windows, roof, but certain parts are still not decided :confused:

. I dont think i can finish the design without seeing the car in the flesh. When I moved it from one garage to another in January, it was the first time I'd seen the front from a distance, and the 206GTi headlights that looked so buggy from 6 feet away look really good from 20 metres, and the front 'bumper' and scoop area look OK. The smiley face in the bonnet must go - ugly :eusa_shifty:

The boot area is being dropped a little so that the 'Max Power' wing :eusa_naughty:

will sit better. The rear Puma lights are a real pain to figure into the redesign, so I may swap to separate round brake, indicator and fog/reverse lights :eusa_doh:

. At the end of the day (or year..) I would expect 80-90% of the bodywork to have been reworked. :badgrin:

A change to 18 inch front, 19 inch rear wheels would fit the design well ( :eusa_pray:

). I also hope to move the exhausts so the exit high, bit like the Ducatis (etc) of recent time, which will shorten the rear overhang.

I could post some rough sketches, doubt they'd be of interest though.

Edited: I was inspired by Meerkats website, so I'm gonna do something similar myself. I'll keep you posted, could be sometime in April.

I've had a go at adapting these designs to a Stratos chassis - they really don't look right :icon_rolleyes:

. But it wasn't wasted effort, cos it threw up some interesting design details that can be refined. :eusa_dance:

While contemplating 3 more years without my Stratos, I'm thinking about designing a one-off car that would look like one of these concept cars, especially following threads I've read on a cheap V12 :shock:

BMW engine (no idea which model has such a thing). :eusa_think:

It'd never make it to kitcardom (wife and family to feed). :eusa_naughty:

Anyone else have such daydreams? :eusa_boohoo:

The BMW V12's are normally fitted to the 7 (and 8) series.

There's plentyof them out in the big 'G'

That really will be some serious car Vojx.

BTW I did hear somewhere that the BMW V12 is only a little longer that the V8, which in turn is around the same length as the 6cyl.

2 years 'til your back. Sounds like just enough time to get it finished over there!

got two of them BMW V12 engine in the garage.... and one in a complete 750il.....
I measured them up with a Rover V8 and the chevy in my Ult and there was only an inch here and there in it
.... However it is much more of a box shape ie its a large engine that they have kept compact wereas the V8s have bits sticking out here and there that make them bigger (water pump etc).

I'm very aware though that I'm a long way from getting one running though I hear parallel have done it using two straight six ecus.
