Just wanted ideas of how people have done there's. Post pictures if possible.
I have the standard gearbox and front top engine mount supplied by Marlin. But not braced to the suspension leg. Braced at the bottom of block (by oil cooler) using threaded stud and ball joints. Will get piccies up later.
But engine is rattling like mad so needs some ideas how to steady here. And if anybody has pictures of the Marlin new engine mounts.
BTW, general question to all turbo builders. Has anyone tilted the engine from it's normal standing position towards the front of the car? I have.

Toying with ideas at the monet. As mine is a 200 donor, playing with the lower gearbox mounting to the lower chassis. Also trying to figure out how to connect that timing upper bracket to suspension lug on leg. Near Blue pipe on above picture.
Looking at the piccies I think your problem might be the lower stabiliser rod. I would expect it to be insulated at one end at least with rubber. Disconnect and see if problem dissapears.
Looking at you your pics I cannot see the short stabliser bar that goes from the right engine mount to the a chassis upright just rear of the right engine mount. Did you not get a short bar approx 4 inches in length with a rubber bush at either end. You can see the upright in the 5th pic and the other end bolts to the engine mount where you have a bracket in pic 6.
Thats a bummer why was your chassis different from mine. I thought we both got our kits about the same time. Would it be feasable to put something like a mountain bike rear swinging arm little damper from your rear upright and your bracket on the engine mount perhaps beef the bracket up a bit. you could also adjust the rate of damping. Those type of damper seem quite sturdy, they support my somewhat not petite rear end.
hmm there's any idea about the mountain bike part.
I'm going to do as Brian said and move the engine as far right as poss but will need to lengthen the hole on the chassis engine mount a bit as where the rubber dounut bit fits in, it's stopping it moving any more to the right.
What are your measurements Tony from the timing cover to the chassis and alternator pulley to the chassis?
I have just got back from working on the car but i will take the measurements tomorow and let you know. However i can move mine right a bit further as a made my own alternater bracket, so the alternator sits between the upper and lower rear side chassis members in a straight line frow the crankshaft pulley. this allows the engine right so it just misses the sump.
Im afraid i have changed jobs and i no longer have access to the steel required also as mine is fitted i would have trouble getting to the bracket to recreate all the dimensions needed but i could make up a sketch and photos if you like. I am not sure if my set up is the same a brian. but i think like me he is using a electric water pump which removes the water pump pully. leave a personal message with your phone number and i could talk you through it if thats better.
