**Forum downtime for upgrade**

15 Apr 2025, 12:48am
Hi all,
Just a warning that the forum will be closed for a period, most likely from tonight whilst an upgrade takes place (but timings may change, just don't be surprised as and when it goes offline)

Upgrading the forum software has been long overdue and has restricted its use somewhat. It will be upgraded to VBulletin 6 and move to the cloud so that all future upgrades are taken care of.

After the upgrade you will notice a different look to how it is now. The URL for the forum will also change to,

forum.madabout-kitcars.com

I will put a redirect in place so that madabout-kitcars.com/forum will automatically redirect to the correct destination but it will also be worth updating any bookmarks you may have.

The rest of the site is also currently under going a long long overdue upgrade and its looking good I must say, it won't be far behind.

Onwards and upwards.

Cheers, John

Ok, that didn't go as smoothly as planned but the forum data has finally been migrated. If you have found the forum again already under its new URL (forum.madabout-kitcars.com) you'll notice there is no Madabout styling at the moment. I will be doing this on the fly so you may notice some odd changes happening.

Thanks for your patience.

Cheers John

Hi peeps,

have also updated the main site pages now as well which was long long overdue. Its now much more responsive for mobile phones and desktops/laptops.

I hope people like the new look. I've still got a lot of data to update to bring the content up to date so its going to be an ongoing project.

There will be some new site additions coming soon too.

The forum is now open again for new registrations as it is now running on the latest version of software. Your logins will all be the same as before.

The forum now has more features such as blogs and articles. I will review what to do with these over time.

Cheers, John

Hi John, thanks for the upgrade, as the old site was definitely playing up at times. Cheers, Paul. :)

PS - Just spotted there seems to be an issue with the Smilies, with the code showing, but not the actual image.

Fantastic upgrade, well done.
:eusa_clap:I'm loving the new main site front page with the featured cars.

Thanks chaps.

Re the smilies, these were supposed to have been migrated over but it looks like just the default ones are there. I will investigate adding them back in.

Cheers, John
