Now photo bucket has gone OTT with their prices what is the next best think and how do you transfer all you photos safely ???

I am really hoping the world wide backlash against this decision will make Photobucket change its mind. 
I stopped using Photobucket a few years ago, but still have over 1,000 old photos stored on there.
Transferring these old photos to somewhere else is one thing...
But replacing every broken link on this forum (& others) will be something else.

I did a search on the Database and just in this little world of Madabout there are nearly 9000 photobucket links that will now be broken. Arsewipes!

Free fix here but no guarantees it will keep working if PB get hold of it. Imgur, flikr, etc all run the same risk of stopping third party hosting. Only way to guarantee your photos is to pay for proper hosting or do it yourself.

Could the fix be made a sticky, that way if someone is trying to view a picture they could use the fix so hopefully will remain fixed for the next reader.

I now notice that many of the listings on Ebay are showing the photo bucket extortion picture.
I'm sure it won't be long before another company fills the gap.

The Photobucket issue is fixed on the Madabout forum....for now.
Pictures are back following a fix/workaround that Paul L highlighted to me (cheers Paul) With some clever coding jiggery pockery by my partner in crime the pictures can be seen again....but could disappear if photofuckit change things again.
If you were having trouble getting your images from photbucket I would grab them off the forum now while they are there.
Even though images are back I wouldn't recommend continuing to host your pics on photobucket (unless you've paid the requisite $399) but use an alternative host that allows forum linking.
