What are your thoughts on these covers? I know they are not real but...they had me fooled the other day, cost around £15. A bit too chavvy?

I love these covers as they give a great look especially once they have some dust on them to look more real. I have them on my daily driver (new shape shogun) and my wifes car (Z300s). They come in all sizes and colours.

There is a knack to fitted them to make them believable though. Chose the colour you want then match it with a tin of paint from your local car store. Wire brush the caliper and wipe with thinners. Trial fit the caliper and chop off bits till it fits properly (and clears the wheel when fitted).




Then paint the caliper with several coats till you are happy, no need to mask the disc as the paint will come off the first time you use the brakes.



Use clear silicone sealer in blobs on the back then secure in place with masking tape. Make sure the bleed nipple faces up!





The final effect is worth the extra effort

No one has ever questioned if they are real or not.

Wow! I always dis-guarded these as 'pants' but now I've seen the light. They look so real. Im off to ebay now for a set.

I saw a bit on the internet of lies which dissed them because they could cause overheating. Sounds unlikely.
I will buy a set, nice tip about painting the rest of the caliper.

The cover goes on the outside of the caliper, I could understand if it covered the pads but does not. Ive used them for years, even on track days and they did not come off or melt.
We even have them on our Kobra demonstrator which has upgraded brakes anyway.

Forget the calipers - nice KOBRA

Like the wheel choice and wing mirrors - good touches

We went for a modern take on the Cobra theme. There s even a side repeater behind the traditional wing slats, took a couple of shots to get it while it was flashing.

I noticed that too Richard. Another nice touch that shows what can be done with a large slice of imagination and know-how.
