With help from OXFORD 13/60 we managed to close down the old Ribble web site and since then I have been getting a steady stream of redirected web traffic.
One guy contacted me asking for help registering his nearly built Sammio fitted with a 3.9 Rover V8.
He agreed to letting me post a few photo's and hopefully he will join the forum and add some more information.
I think the bonnet air intake look fantastic and the rear lights are a question of "taste". but with that intake and that exhaust (which look like cherry bombs) it should sound fantastic
By some accounts about 150 Spyder bodies sold so there must be loads of finished cars, abandoned projects and unstarted kits out there.
This one looks very interesting, the V8 seems to have similar clearance issues under the bonnet that the dragon green one with the upturned wheelbarrow on the bonnet that someone became a 'new' type of car, no, definitely not a copy of the Sammio at all, a few years back also had -
Can't help wondering what a row of webers would look like sticking up out of the bonnet instead of a scoop -
Interesting choice of tail lights, very Jetsons inspired...
It's certainly a unique car and that's the point of us building them as no two cars are ever the same - I applaud him for his vision and bravery of the 3.9 lump!
As for the rear lights makes me think of the guy that created the original Batmobile for the TV series in the 60's.
Its nearer 120 kits and bodies from memory Towed ....That one is looking promising .
The intake is a bit modern for me , tail lights are controversial , but its another great example of the versatility of a blank canvas.
Was this a Vitesse donor ? A Herald axle would be working quite hard with a 3.9 forcing itself upon it , I should imagine . I'd certainly like to see more of this one ...
I see it has the centre bar in the cockpit , I think only about half dozen of those were done .
Agree about the Boxer style setup Towed ...that would look pretty impressive breaking the bonnet line ..

Hi Dave ...yep still here , I lurk a lot .
I am very proud of the Sammio thing and its roots , as well as the various projects and offerings it has created along the way .
I hated the fact it went tits , I should have doubled the price , sacked the useless twats I was relying on to help me , took my head out of the sand and stood by my product and customers a bit more ...all very easy to say with hindsight . The sale of Sammio and subsequent financial failings cost me more than a lot of people realise , despite that I still love the car and the ethos ...
El Primer and The Shadow keep Gary up to date with Sammio life.
I havent seen or heard from The Shadow for ages ...I think hes moved away , possibly overseas ...not sure.
