The thread title reminds me of something but I can't quite place it.
Anyway, I need to get both of my freshly resprayed bonnets from near Reading to Southampton. One will be fitted to the car which is easy. I then need to get the other one.
I took it up on the back of my Nissan Navarra with some carpet off cuts providing padding and a ratchet strap holding it down.
How do I bring it back without wrecking the new paint?
It is wider and slightly longer than my flatbed which ever way round you try it.
I have a stand in the garage to support it standing vertically but that will act like sail on the back of the truck.
Currently looking at chipboard supports with carpet and old towels to resist the straps rubbing.

Whilst the paint is still soft, best not to touch it at all- hire a Sprinter.
Do you know anybody with a trailer? Not any help but I have a 11ft by 6ft trailer that would be ideal if I hadn't left it in the middle of France.
You can hire these for about £50 per day, better than the inevitable ratchet strap rubbing the paint off
