Silver works perfectly and wheels massive improvement over those on your black coupe. But what happened with the door skin alignment in the first photo?
No vents cut either?
Who will be the first to fit a neat period chrome bumper on the rear ? Maybe full bumper on the rear and quarter bumpers on the front . Not sure what will fit but there must be a few options out there.
Tell us more about your planned journey to Italy - route, interesting places to stop on the way, distances etc. I take it you'll be breaking the journey up into stages?
Coincidentally I've been thinking about a cross-continent road trip to Italy (and maybe onwards to the Greek Islands) myself. From my location in East Anglia the Harwich ferry across to Holland is the most convenient route into Europe, so any advice/experiences you can offer regarding the run from Holland to Italy would be very useful.
Mini doorhandles that push the standard bmw handle in.... Very simple solution, dont use the lock but the remote from the Beamer closes all.
Wheels chrome steel wheels 15" with wire inserts, 205 upfront, 225 at the rear, this is a very simple 1.9 auto that does the job very well and has cruise control, very handy on the long run to Italy.
Seats are leather buckets seats

For now we are enjoying the car and give it a 3500km shakedown.

As Rob says a simple solution, 3mm steel plate bolted (0r drilled, tapped and screwed) to the top hinged section of the stock Z3 handle as shown. No need to cut that much of the door skin as I was experimenting......
As a back up for failed central locking systems we are working on a manual cable release that could be operated from the boot, which is always accessible with the key.
To Eric; am in Italy now, car is all assembled, but basically i used a bike brake cable to attach to the steel pullcable from the inner door opener....
Mine is gonna be an electric opening via remote, but our MOT law says the car has to be opened from the outside....
