I am now ready to start looking for seats for the my 5exi. I have considered the "cut out" seats from Marlin but find them rather expensive and flimsy...
I've also been told Lotus Elise seats fit and wondered if anyone has any other suggestions of other seat possibilities, or ideas where i could pick some cheap elise seats from.
Hope all builds are going to plan... would love an update from everyone with their progress...
Same problem with me Andy. I need to replace the marlin narrow seats as I don't fit in them. I was going to order some of the wide versions, but the price is putting me off. I'm going to go for a pair of Elise or VX220 seats. They were built for this sort of car and are low to the floor. Even with the Low marlin seats my heads still not that far below the roll bar, so I have to be careful when picking the seats.
Elise seats do however seem to be as rare as rocking horse poop.
I've been watching Elise seats on ebay for a while now and they go quite cheaply when they come up so it's down to waiting! Some nice one were on last week in alcantara blue but too far for me to travel!
Was highest bidder on the nice blue elise seats last week, and just before the end the kind seller decided to remove the item from sale.... not a happy chappy....
I didn't realise that the seats were removed Dan! They were the business though... The type r engine is still sitting in the garage patiently waiting for it's new home I have spoken to Mark about my kit a few times of late and the chassis is going to be stonger than normal either a stronger grade material or extra sections due to the fact it's getting supercharged Would not have been happy at all if it had twisted due to the power....
Sounds good craig. You'll have one heck of a fast motor when its finished.
Still don't know what to do about the whole power thing. Did have a Brand new T-Series turbo lined up, but the company selling them sold the last batch to a motorsport team and forgot about me...
