Insurance advice

14 Jan 2006, 10:59am
Recieved my insurance documents from HIC. It had the make model down as a Marlin Roadster TC. I assumed they'd made a mistake so phoned them up. They told me they only have a limited number of kit car make and models to pick from and the 5EXI is not listed so it goes down as a Roadster TC (the only marlin they have listed) I've been assured all is OK, I'm not too happy however as I'm used to normal cars and the insurance having to be all exactly correct to keep the insurance valid.

Anyone got any comments on this? Thoses who have there 5EXI's on the road, what does it say on your insurance certificate.

Thanks

I would have thought this may cause a problem when you come to tax the car if the post office clerk is actually looking at what they are doing. Maybe the insurance company can help out with a covering letter or something for such an eventuality (more likely now it's all computerised)

Taxing the car is OK as the actual insurance certificate only contains the cars Reg number.

Insurance issues

I had a kit car writen off, my experience was just be sure you have an agreed value, because that can cause some real issues.
