door / window seals

19 Mar 2014, 3:50pm
I need to tackle the window seals on my mx250 hardtop,
Things are getting a little draughty at motorway speeds, that and I'm sure we must be due a down pour in the next few days
Is there a seal that will fit onto the roof moulding (it seems too far away from the window glass). Otherwise I'll have to fabricate some angled sheet steel to bring it out far enough to seal nicely with the window, and use some mini door rubbers

Any advice would be welcomed!

I have been puzzling this too. Apparently Chris designed it around around the standard hardtop seals which are silly expensive. I think the best solution is seals direct.co.UK and find something that will work with a modified lip on the door surround.
It would be great if someone could post up their successful finished article (which doesn't leak)

I think you are supposed to use the soft top seals.

If you find Heinrichs one on the forum here he did post his solution. Typical Germany efficiency!!

I use a seal from seals direct, put i did move the shuts in to 10mm.
