It's getting colder so I been setting up my workshop heaters ready for the promised snow
This year I am running a 3 barrelled wood burner but over the passed few days I have been playing with drip feed oil burner and have been surprized at how well they burn so have installed one along side my wood burner.
The temp gauge was off the scale, it actually when higher than this, the old paint didn't stand a chance
And i bet its a damn site quieter than the heater i had running last time you popped in!
I really wish i could have had one off you but my landlord and my sanity wouldn't allow it as i would spend every night waiting for the call to say the unit had burned down!
Unlike the barrel stoves you just shut off the oil 1/2 hour before you want to go home, the flame goes out after about 5 min and just let the rest cool down.
Much safer than a space heater because it's very hard to set fire to yourself as the flame is contained, you can't trip over it and you can't knock it over.
I remember calling at a friends workshop only to find him passed out under a car!!!!! The space heater had filled the space with CO2!!!!! He just felt a little tired!!!!!! Then a few weeks later he drove his tractor into a wall again after spending time in the workshop with the same space heater!!!!!This time he just felt a little sick!!!!!!

A man of your calibre could build one is a few hours.
The only problem is it does take a while to fine tune it to burn hot and clean. I still get a little smoke but have ordered a 100mm flue pipe which should sort the problem out.
