Hi there I'm nowhere although been following multiple peoples builds on here for ages. I love the tribute and am really into my cars. Been looking to build a kit car for over six months and really love the idea of rolling up to uni in one of these bad boys. Is it a good first build . I'm only 18 so obviously don't have much experience/ money But I do really fancy trying this build so what I'm asking previous owners/builders is it a simple good first build or complicated unrealistic goal .
George
I've never built a kit car before George but am making good progress on my MX despite making additional problems for myself by using a Mk2. If you can get a decent Mk1 to build on I think it's much easier.
I have built a couple before. Use a good rust free mot ed mk 1. The only issues you will have is rubbing and filling the body work it takes ages !!
You can do as much or as little to the mechanicals as you wish . Leave it totally standard or really go to town . I have urated my brakes and suspension , fitted after market seats and steering wheel beefed up the engine , fitted a twin stainless exhaust , push button start .....
Just enjoy its also cheap to run and cheap to insure
