Hi guys . I took my car for a short drive to test the brakes and I can hear water sloshing about on the left side ... Why ??
I cleaned out the blocked soft top drain holes yesterday . Do I need to start worrying !!

No problems drill two holes in each sill front and back, let the water out (if its clean you have no inner sill rust) leave for a week or so to dry out then use waxoyl with a gun and a long nozzle / tube to prevent rusting from inside, Halfords sell this kit amongst others, and check your hood drains. if you go back to the early days of my build I had the same problem.

As Tony said. If you have had the sills welded they will have plated over the drain holes.
The rear sills have been welded so that must be it . Thanks guys , guess I'm getting the drill out tomorrow . I'm out the country then till Saturday so that should be long enough for it to drain I hope .

My sills were original but the holes were still blocked, as were the hood drains, this is the most likley cause of MOT fails in the uk, lack of maintenence, sills rotting from inside as hood drains have become blocked sills fill with water, the Waxoyl is a rust inhibitor and protection for the sill, you have to stick it in a bucket of hot water then pump and spray it through a long clear tube, I did the inside of my doors at the same time.
