I have just bought my first kit car, a MK Indy fireblade with a motorbike engine fitted. I need to complete the project by installing a reverse gear. Can anyone recommend where to buy one from, how much are they, are they easy to fit (limited mechanical knowledge) or how much would a mechanic charge to fit it
Cheers
Paul.
As I remember Quaife make a reverse gear box. But I guess, if you dont intend to fit it yourself you will need an engineering company specialising in kit cars to fit it. It would probably be beyond an average mechanic as it wont just be a bolt in job.
my mk midi zx10r has a starter motor of a rover 220 diesel works ok but its best to use battery of a car mine is mid engine layout with a mk enginerings own diff
