If anyone on here does buy it, bear in mind that the quickest way to kill a 1500 Spitfire engine is to block a third of its radiator's surface area with an oil cooler...
That is nice. Whatever it goes for, I'm willing to bet that you could recoup most if not all of your outlay by selling what you don't need.
My thoughts exactly. You could cut down and refurbish the rusty bulkhead and sell the other one, plus the rest of the panels look pretty good too. I got more for my panels than I paid for the car and they weren't as good as those.
The EBAY listing mentions one welder who did not finish the body for tis customer because he cut his thumb off.....those 1mm cutting discs work reply fast!
I think that listing is very sad, 10 years wasted, and nine of the work done himself-part from the oil cooler brackets!
He should have lowered his sights and got it finished to a lower level, then enjoyed it. He has failed to finish it due to an unrealistic idea of (for him) unobtainable perfection.
There's no mention of a gearbox, the chassis looks like it's seen better days and it's in bits somewhere North of Inverness so a transporter would be needed. But it comes with two engines and £400 buy it now is a good price. After all, I got £150 for my front and rear seats, and this one's interior is in better condition. I'd be gobsmacked if you couldn't get at least £600 back for the parts you don't need. I'd snaffle it myself if it wasn't so bloody far away...
