Failed IVA
Failed IVA
After 7 years since the build started the car was sent off for the IVA.
Unfortunately the engine packed up 15 mins into the test and the test was stopped, under their rules it means whole new test and not just a retest.
This means that once the engine has been fixed l will have to pay another £450 for the test.
A real pain but at least it is getting closer to the point where I will be able to drive it !
Gosh, that is tough. I hope the next attempt goes OK.
Jeees that is tough, £900 smackers just for a test (and you might still need a re-test!). No wonder re-bodies are making a comeback. Think I would lodge an appeal if such a thing exists.

Marlin took the car in for the IVA and Terry has said she will try to get something back but I do not hold out much hope.
Fingers crossed for the next test and hope the engine holds out.
May have to think about changing it for a more modern engine but would at least like the chance to blow it up on on a track first :-)
What happened to the engine? Very unusual for a working donor engine to decide to go like that as soon as you decide to use it.
Not sure what was wrong as Mark from Marlin took the car in and I was not there. He thinks it may be an ECU problem as there was no spark.
Hopefully they will be able to fix soon and put in for a new test and I will have it on the road soon.
