My daily runabout is a FREEELANDER 2. I decided to buy the latest sat nav discs as the existing ones were a few years old and out of date.
Like a lot of people I looked at ebay and bought what I thought was authenticated discs. I tried to load them and the system froze. Having compared my bona fide discs with the new I discovered it was a copy, they looked almost perfect but when held side by side with the old bona fide original it was obviously a copy, including the packaging.
My problem now is that the sat nav is unusable, you can only adjust the settings but not access the nav part.
I have put it in to the Land Rover dealership to resolve and after many hours and a big bill they admit they cannot resolve it and suggest buying a new sat nav reader ( £1000 )
One of the things they tried was to disconnect the battery and short the ends together to try a reboot, but that did not work plus a lot of other things.
Any suggestions please ?
Am currently looking for a replacement second hand one.
Or does anyone know of a repair specialist please ?
